But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6: 33 & 34)
We are going to Tanzania. Recently I have had problems pronouncing that word because I was joking with Landon and called it tan-zane-y-a because I think its a little zaney (possibly insane-y) what we are doing.
Phase 1:
Date of departure: May 8. Date of return: May 25.
Phase 2:
Date of departure: unknown. Length of stay: 6months - 1 year(ish)
For those who may be interested in where we are going here is the website for Falcos Childrens Home: http://www.his-healing-hands-africa.us/
Our plan is to pack up our then to be 11 month old, fly over 18 hours in the air with 1 lay over, try to adjust as quickly as possible to the time zone so that we can serve, observe, enjoy and learn in Tanzania Africa. We will be joining Jerry and Tammy Backus in their orphanage and help them build a childrens villiage in Arusha. The goal of that Childrens Village is to be a fully self sustaining 'village' that would house 250 orphans. We are going to check out everything with the intention of going back and serving for a longer time as we work through the process to adopt a baby and bring him or her home with us.
I have moments of extreme excitement and of extreme fear. We are stepping out in faith that God will work everything out according to his great plans and purpose. Good thing we have a good God whom we can trust fully with our lives, dreams and plans...
